Our latest survey has just been released. The survey focused on Swine Flu and how prepared employers were for a worsening of the pandemic. The good news is that 67% of employers are pretty well prepared and have written up contingency plans and introduced hygiene measures etc into the workplace. It's good to see that employers have heeded the advice of the HSE, IBEC etc and are preparing for the impact.
Employees in general aren't too worried about the pandemic, but for 30% of the employees surveyed there is an added financial worry as they don't receive sick pay from their employers.
It is probably a good idea for those who don't get any sick pay to try to put some rainy day (swine flu) money aside just in case, though easier said than done in todays climate!
