Charlie's Wrap 'n Roll!

September 25, 2008 13:51 by vicki

Just a quick one this avo - we were sitting in the kitchen at lunchtime just now and the conversation/discussion/arguement arose about wraps. Not the Spa treatment or the garment but the burrito type - you know the one? Introduced by O Briens a few years ago, not necessarily invented by them, probably invented by some Mexican years ago. (A man named Juan Mendez. He used to sell tacos in a street stand, during the Mexican Revolution period (1910-1921). To keep the food warm, Juan had the idea of wrapping the food placed in a large flour tortilla inside individual napkins.)

Anyway Charlie one of the guys here was in the kitchen constructing his lunch which consisted of a wrap and chicken and sweetcorn - I hate sweetcorn but he's a very healthy chappy and each to their own I guess - so picture the wrap on the plate and he was putting the ingredients to the left of the wrap then rolling it from the side meaning the contents were spilling out. Myself and Ronan were trying to direct him to put the ingredients in the middle and wrap the sides around it which he was completely ignoring I might add!!

Hence the discussion, which is better, to wrap? or to roll? To be honest I never even considered rolling because its just too messy but clearly there are some people who prefer this method - what do you do?

I blame Juan Mendez for his obvious design flaw.
I suppose it's back to pot noodle for me!

You gotta roll with it,
You gotta take your time,
You gotta say what you say,
Because rolling is the only way!!!

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go-oh
