The Apprentice Week Four

October 13, 2009 13:59 by Charlie

Most of the candidates weren’t looking too happy as they were dragged out of bed at 6AM on a Saturday morning. They shuffled out of the house with a “Bill can stuff his job” look on their face. Not the Breffmeister though, oh no. He jumps out of bed, knocks out a few sit ups and push ups, he even had time to have a chat on camera and coin an entirely new word to describe himself; “perfectionalist”. Seriously, give this guy his own show.

The candidates were soon out of their suits and into a pair of overalls for this week’s task to increase the rental value of some run down houses. Geraldine decided to risk her position as Bill’s favourite and stepped up to be project manager along with Jen, who we had seen very little of up till now. Geraldine’s team pretty much ran away with this one. They had some trouble with the carpet and of course they had to contend with the fact that Breffny has clearly never done a hard day’s work in his life but apart from that it looked to run very smooth for them.

Meanwhile, Jen went off on a shopping trip leaving her team to get themselves covered in paint and complain about how useless Jen was. If they had stopped giving out about her and kept working they might have at least finished painting the outside of the house. To be fair though, the houses did look much improved by the end of the task apart from the dodgy carpeting and splatters of paint everywhere.

I expected a very quick trip to the boardroom this week. I thought Bill was going to say something along the lines of “hi Jen….bye Jen”, but in fact Bill wanted to give the final three in the boardroom a good grilling. It all seemed a bit over the top and I get the feeling he’s hamming it up for the cameras.

Eventually Jen was the fourth person to be fired but not without taking a couple of others down with her by spilling the beans on the “affair” between Brendan and Aoiffe. There’s also talk of a relationship brewing between Geraldine and Breffny (no seriously). Can you imagine the accent their lovechild would have……

So what did you think of last night’s show? Do we think Geraldine is going to run away with it or do you see another potential winner?

I thought last night's was the best task yet including Season 1, really tested their management and patience skills and unfortunately Jen failed miserably.

I think Geraldine was great, I was expecting her to fall apart a wee bit but to be fair she's a tough cookie.

I think Lucinda is the dark horse in all of this Charles, mark my words (unless I'm wrong)!

Geraldine was great, agree with Vic about Lucinda, I actually interviewed Lucinda about 18 months ago and she is a really lovely girl and very bright, her 'immigrant' comment was a bit naughty though (if you saw the Your Fired show after you will know what i mean).

Breffny and Geraldine...it really is My Fair Lady isnt it!
