BUYER / PLANNER Effective Planning / coordinating raw materials to meet production depts. Requirements whilst maintaining effective control of inventory. Need to manage goods from order placement through to production departments need by date allowing for s/stock, in hse testing, outside testing, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Proficiency of DRP and Oracle to ensure material available to meet production requirements while maintaining correct level of inventory without stock outs, minimal obsolescence and with a focus on reducing slow stock.
  
• Customer focused-understanding of priorities within customer base
  
• Proven record of inventory reduction programmes
  
• Excellent interpersonal relationships-internal customers and buyer/supplier.
  
• Develop knowledge of suppliers process-understand constraints in meeting demand and opportunities that can deliver more efficient supply chain objectives. This experience will be gained through supplier visits and audits, supplier presentations and normal communication.
  
• Problem solving- ownership of relationship between supplier and Millipore so expectation that supply problems unless of a critical nature can be overcome.
  
• Invoice resolution-resolve issues as they arise.
  
• Liase with production , suppliers , quality, finance, product management,
  
• Innovation- explore opportunities for doing things better either through better supplier related initiatives or internal processes, material review etc.
  
  
• Execution to MPS and WIP Management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• APICS and Purchasing
• At least four years planning in MRP/DRP and purchasing experience
• IIPMM / APICS
