Job Title: Certification and Inspection Officer, Medical Devices Division
Location: Santry, Dublin 9
Salary: €40,180 - €60,176 (Grade SO – Scientific Officer)
€58,953 - €81,635 (Grade SSO – Snr. Scientific Officer)
Duration: Specific purpose contract (career break cover - 2 years approx)
Function: To evaluate applications for Certification and product approval under NSAI Certification Scheme, European Directives and other International Standards, and carry out surveillance inspections to ensure compliance.
Duties : To process applications for Certification, or approval in connection with NSAI certification / approval activities.
To liaise with clients regarding the requirements of such Certification / approval activities.
To respond to technical enquiries
To keep abreast of regulatory matters relating to such activities, particularly in the field of EU Directives.
To maintain documentation, records and files relating to such activities and duties.
To promote and project the Certification Service through the dissemination of information by correspondence, lectures, publications and otherwise as the opportunity arises.
To ascertain and to report on the need for new Certification activities.
To advise the Director of Client Services, and the Operations Manager, on matters within her/his competence.
To maintain strict confidentiality of matters relating to client work at all times.
Undertake travel both at home and abroad where necessary in carrying out inspection work.
To perform any other duties as may be required by the Director, and Chief Executive Officer, NSAI from time to time.
Other Skills: - Degree in Science.
- At least 5 years experience in Medical Device Industry preferably in the area of sterilisation
- Experience in IVD Manufacturing /QC desirable
