Summary:
The main focus area is datacenter architecture for virtualization, consolidation and eco-computing. The Architect will perform a functional, technical and financial analysis of existing datacenters and will focus on reducing costs and resource optimization.
The Architect will consider all logical/physical areas in the Datacenter which means Process, Products and People and will provide recommendations for solutions around virtualization, consolidation and eco-computing.
Description, Skills, Education & Experience:
Roles & Responsibilities
-Collects and prioritizes engagement requirements with customers on consolidation, migration, virtualization, application architecture (SAP, Oracle...), datacenter optimization (TCO, Utility Computing), datacenter (X64, Ultrasparc and Sparc64 VI) business applications.
-Build credibility as trusted advisor with a customer's executive management team by articulating a crisp understanding of their business issues and the positive impact of our clients solutions and/or products.
-Map customer business requirements to technical solutions.
-Spans all layers of the business infrastructure interfaces with the accounts customer and customer executive management; to define requirements and recommend solutions. Works closely with the SMI account management teams.
-Responsible for process, product, people and organizational consulting delivery within dedicated billable customer projects.
-Performing assessments and analysis for cross practices systems, storage, service and software therefore interfacing with these practices and receive support.
-Trusted advisor to the customer in analyzing, optimizing and new design of IT.
Planning and carrying out interviews, workshops and presentation of recommendations. Consulting and project management during the implementation phase of recommendations.
-Thorough analysis of existing datacenter based on functional, technical and financial Assessments.
Key Requirements
-Very good technical understanding of how a datacenter works and in terms of products, process, people and organization. ITIL certified.
-Very good knowledge of virtualization and consolidation Market and available solutions.
-Good knowledge about business processes and how to transform to IT processes
-Good understanding of SOA, IT service management and compliance requirements.
-Broad technology know-How about server, storage, network in the UNIX area.
-Good understanding of consulting and project management methodology.
-Displays high levels of energy and drive, thrives under pressure, with strong business acumen and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Provides coaching or mentoring to 1 or more DataCentre Virtualisation Consultants advising on appropriate development to ensure PSD has suitably-trained consultants in the relevant product areas.
-Good team player
-University degree in informatics and/or business administration or experience in the datacenter-environment and experience in Solaris environment
-Willingness to travel extensively within the region
-Fluent in written and spoken English
