Job description
The individual will be expected to develop and manage the performance of members of the London Landscape Architecture and Urban design team. This will involve recruitment, selection, development and performance management of direct reports.
Project Management and Direction
The role will require management of projects, external sub-consultants, from bid handover to project completion. This includes programming, financial and resource management. In addition the individual will be expected to act as a Project Director to provide technical leadership and technical review for projects.
Technical
The role requires excellent design, graphic and presentation skills and successful candidates will need to demonstrate a strong track record in concept design, master planning, detailed design and implementation.
Knowledge of the Commercial Environment
The individual will be expected to understand the concept of value pricing, the relative importance of providing commodity and specialist services, and their appropriate positions within the market. The individual will also be expected to develop over time an operational understanding internal commercial and financial systems.
Client Management
Liaising, developing and maintaining new and existing clients will be an important part of the position. The individual will often be required to represent the clientmeetings, functions and external events. Forming key account relationships will be pivotal to the role.
Bid Management and Business Development
The individual will be responsible for the preparation of written proposals, pricing new work and achieving a satisfactory profit margin. The individual will be required to interface with other senior members of the team in terms of developing new products and clients and general business planning.
Oral, Graphic and Written Communication Skills
The role requires exceptional written, graphic and oral presentation skills. A strong knowledge of Autocad, sketch up, in-design, photoshop and other graphic packages are essential.
Background Information
This is a senior role within the London Environmental Solutions Team to manage and grow the Landscape Architecture and Urban design team within the London office. This position is available due to restructuring of the Environmental Solutions Team in London.
Salary Range Min 45,000
Salary Range Max 55,000

Desirable Qualifications MA or Equivalent urban design qualification
Essential Qualifications Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (MLA or equivalent in Landscape Design)
Essential Experience
More than 10 years of practical experience working with both the public and private sector in a range of infrastructure, urban planning and property developments
