Job Description :
As a web / graphic designer, you will be working on the graphic design elements of website interfaces, banner ads, buttons, icons, borders, colour schemes and all elements of design with the website user interface.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to take an interest in the business and may be expected to contribute to ongoing improvements to the company brand (including its website).
The production of visually attractive Marketing materials for the company, may also be part of your duties.
Requirements and Duties :
Strong Web Design skills are the most important requirement. Graphic design on its own is not enough. You need to demonstrate professional websites that you have designed in the past.
An understanding and use of CSS and XHTML and how the image designs will fit into the webpage is required.
Typical Job Responsibilities :
* Design Website Interfaces.
* Design Marketing Materials.
* Assist in defining new standards in response to industry trends.
* Ongoing design improvements to company website.
Qualifications/Skills :
* Applicants will need to demonstrate their creative abilities by means of a portfolio or past/previous work undertaken.
* STRONG graphic design flair, and ability to use packages, such as Fireworks or Photoshop, Illustrator, (The Adobe CS suite) and others.
* Good timekeeping skills - must be able to keep to a deadline.
* Attention to detail
* Excellent knowledge of web standards and how to design a website template.
Bonus Points (not essential) :
* Experience in software product design and ability to write clear technical documentation is desirable.
* Experience developing in PHP is an advantage.
* Experience using mySQL is an advantage.
