Our client is a high profile aircraft leasing company which is looking to recruit a Head of Risk. The purpose of this role is to take full responsibility for developing and managing the strategy and risk analysis and management functions within the firm through the ongoing development and review of the Company's strategic objectives and the design and implementation of analytical, reporting and management processes to identify, quantify and mitigate market, business, asset and credit risks.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with senior management, to establish the Company's macro-economic view of the global aviation industry as a key input to the strategic planning process
- Design periodic strategic and risk reports for internal, external and board distribution
- Participate and present at board meetings
- Establish a risk management function with appropriate policies, procedures and standards
- Develop and refine a systematic approach to evaluating aircraft acquisition and disposal opportunities through financial models and the appropriate pricing of asset, maintenance and credit related issues
- Periodically assess, monitor and report on the credit profile of our customers
- As part of internal management reviews, provide input into the pricing, risk and returns associated with potential transactions
- Manage the preparation of all deal related papers for committee approval
- Support other financial analyses including assessing the risks and returns associated with various capital deployment opportunities
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of portfolio specific data and produce regular portfolio risk reviews
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft leasing and airline credit risk assessment
- Highly numerate and computer literate with a degree in a financial / risk / mathematical / statistical discipline
- Strong understanding of strategic and risk management methodologies and practices
- Proven strategic and risk management experience within a complex business environment (preferably aircraft leasing)
- Sound knowledge of aircraft leasing and airline credit risk assessment
- Familiarity with aviation market data sources
- Presentation and report writing experience to a senior audience
