Role Scope:
Development of the latest personalization products and mobile Internet solutions for international clients, specialising in database design and development.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database schema, SQL scripts and procedures for all products
  • Ownership of coding standards for SQL, JDBC, stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design
  • Capacity planning, creation of test plans and capacity testing of database components
  • Performance tuning applications
  • Review all SQL changes, and optimization tuning
  • Database testing and optimized configuration for customers of different size
  • Assist in database sizing calculations for deployment projects and RFI's
  • Troubleshoot database-related customer issues


Skills Required:
  • Excellent SQL development experience
  • Excellent capacity and performance planning experience
  • PL/SQL experience
  • Database design experience including expert knowledge of data normalization, referential integrity, indexing and database sizing
  • Experience with data warehousing systems (star schema & transformation, materialized views and rewrite)
  • Proficiency and experience with data loads and data loading strategies
  • Experience with database connectivity, managing DB connections and configuring JDBC
  • Oracle installation, configuration and database administration on both Linux and Unix platforms
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles
  • Knowledge of Internet technologies, infrastructure and architecture


Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with triggers and transact SQL
  • Knowledge of mobile internet solutions
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and networks.
  • People management skills
