Financial Accountant with 5-7 years experience including experience in a manufacturing multinational required for permanent role with leading company in Athlone.
Reports To: Financial Controller
Position Summary:
The accountant assistant will report to the local Financial Controller and along with the Finance team will be responsible for ensuring data is process on a timely basis and recorded accurately.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Monthly Management accounts for local and corporate management.
- Review of accounts payable entries and upload to general ledger.
- Ensure supplier payments are up to date.
- Co-coordinating payroll with the payroll providers.
- Perform month end accounting activities, ensuring the proper accounting and valuation. This includes, but is not limited to journal entries, accruals, reconciling general ledger accounts, statement preparation and analysis.
- Maintenance of Fixed Assets, the records and record keeping, and depreciation
- Monthly account analysis & variance reporting
- Balance Sheet reconciliations & review to strict deadlines and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all Irish statutory & tax requirements
- Review, modify and write accounting policies and procedures, as well as monitor adherence to the policies.
- Development & implementation of internal financial & operational controls
- Assist in development of rolling monthly forecasts
- Assist in preparation of annual budget process
- Ensure the Finance function continues to value add to the organization
- Perform other financial accounting duties as required.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills.
- PC skills with emphasis on Excel spreadsheet, automated accounting and financial planning system
- Capable of working on own initiative
- Strong leadership skills.
- Qualified Accountant
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience
- Experience in a similar role in the manufacturing sector essential
- Good analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- The successful candidate will need to be detailed orientated with the ability to take on a broad range of tasks and responsibilities over time
