A leading financial software provider are currently looking to hire 5 technical consultants to work on client projects located internationally.

The following is some of the skills required:

  • RDBMS experience, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata
  • Middleware / Messaging technologies
  • J2EE - experience deploying J2EE applications
  • Oracle (PL/SQL)
  • Solaris, Linux (Shell programming)
  • Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss
  • Knowledge of ETL and datawarehousing technologies


In relation to J2EE, technical consultants relies more on principles and inderstanding of the J2EE architecture rather than the specific tools, however the framework built on J2EE which are used include IBM Websphere, JBOSS and Tomcat.

An understanding of ANT is useful if you are required to construct builds received from Engineering for clients

Also an understanding of J2EE tuning and diagnosis tools such as pmat and other standard java stack tracing tools is useful.
