Cost Accountant with 3yrs experience in a manufacturing environment required for permanent role with multinational in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
Purpose of Job: The Cost Accountant will report to the local Financial Controller and along with the Finance team will be responsible for ensuring data is processed on a timely basis and recorded accurately.
Main Roles & Responsibilities :
- Reconciliation of the Sales & Cost of Sales to the general ledger.
- Developing and maintaining the standard cost system for current and new products.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory transaction within Oracle, to ensure they are done on a timely manner and in accordance with the policy and procedures.
- Assist and give guidance of the correct transaction that should be done.
- Reconcile inventory balance on a regular basis.
- Work closely with production and quality in relation to possible inventory write offs.
- Review production order variance and ensure they are recorded on a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring inventory is counted on a regular basis, and variances are fully investigated.
- Work closely with Supply Chain in relation to stock control.
- Ensuring all the SOX controls are implemented and adhered to.
- Development & implementation of internal financial & operational controls.
- Assist in development of rolling monthly forecasts.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget process.
- Evaluating cost reduction initiatives.
- Currently act as a backup to the AP person.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant
- Minimum of 3 years experience in costing in a manufacturing background .
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- PC skills with emphasis on Excel spreadsheet, automated accounting and financial planning system.
- Capable of working on own initiative, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities to the highest standards ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
- The successful candidate will need to be detailed orientated with the ability to take on a broad range of tasks and responsibilities over time.
