Hands on Manufacturing Engineer with CNC Programming experience urgently required for Medical Device company in Limerick.
Suitable candidates will have very strong CAD/CAM experience and a background in Product Development and NPI.

Role:
+ Responsibility for taking a concept or drawing, and creating toolpaths for prototype or production.
+ Demonstrated hands-on expertise in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming and CNC operation. CNC Machines should include mills, lathes, turning centres, CMMs and robots.
+ Proven experience in machine selection, process development and process troubleshooting.
+ Good communicator to enable knowledge transfer to Operations and Engineers.
+ Train manufacturing team members.+ Proven ability to interact and network with R&D and Operations.
+ Good understanding of Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to interrogate and challenge drawings for manufacturability.
+ Strong understanding of cycle time reduction, state-of-the-art tooling, gauge design and also fixturing methods e.g. Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED).
+ Ideally with demonstrated understanding of lean concepts, SMED, Value stream mapping, 6 sigma etc
+ Familiar with NPI and Process development .
+ Proven desire to innovate. Provide leadership and direction to the Advanced Operations Department in order to keep the group at the forefront of CNC-based technology. Bench Mark best in class processes and equipment.
+ Participate in FMEA, risk assessment and deliverables associated with product transfers and launches.
+ Support all capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation.

Skills:
+Degree in Mechanical Engineering ideal but not essential, Diploma level is required.
+CAD/CAM: Master CAM or similar CAM package, Unigraphics, Proengineer or similar CAD modelling package. Very strong ability to take a concept or drawing, and create tool-paths for prototype or production.
+Programming language: include Yasnak, MCOSMOS etc. ISO, Marco/Parametric and conversational for CNC programming on Fanuc controllers preferable.
+Programming and Operation: of CNCs, Robotics, CMM. Typical machines: Mitutoyo, Willemin, Mori Seiki, Okuma, Miyano, Okuma, Kitamura, Integrex.
+The individual must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a programming role within a CNC environment.
