Our client a pharmaceutical plant in Cork is now recruiting a Analytical Scientists. This is a permanent role.

Reporting to the Head of Analytical Development, the Analytical Scientist will participate in cross-functional project teams and co-ordinate analytical activities in support of R&D projects.

Roles / Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to the development and registration of new products
  • Take a lead in the development of robust analytical methods suitable for the evaluation of novel formulations
  • Troubleshoot analytical test methods and assist in the investigation & documentation of deviations/discrepancies/anomalies
  • Write and review procedures, protocols, study plans and technical reports to document analytical activities and provide relevant inputs to regulatory submissions
  • Implement study plans, analytical development/validation projects and stability studies
  • Interpret and compile test results and communicate to cross-functional project teams
  • Co-ordinate the scheduled maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment and in laboratory housekeeping activities
  • Conduct all laboratory tasks in a responsible way and with due regard to all health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Implement and maintain all laboratory systems in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements


Skills/Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in pharmaceutical analysis in a GMP environment, including;
  • Managing study plans and protocols
  • Training & coaching level 1 & 2 laboratory analysts
  • Taking leading role in projects
  • Representation of Analytical function in cross-functional teams
  • A third level qualification in chemistry/analytical science
  • Ability to manage projects
  • Ability to interpret test data in a sound scientific manner
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory guidance's
  • Ability to design effective and efficient study plans, protocols and project proposals
