Our client is a specialist hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

We have been retained to recruit an English Instructor.

Position Summary

Assesses English proficiency in listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills for hospital employees where English is the required language of communication
Develops, administers and scores tests for assessment and/or placement in appropriate English classes
Develops and instructs an on-going curriculum for the hospital's English program based on current English as a foreign Language (EFL) research and teaching methodology/materials and assessed needs for employees.

Qualifications Required:
Degree from an accredited university in which English is the language of instruction . Course work covered should include instruction in language arts, applied linguistics, teaching methodology, educational evaluation and classroom management.
Certificate in English as a foreign Language desirable

Professional Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience in classroom teaching of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to students from non-English background.

Specialised Knowledge

Proven experience in developing, validating and testing culturally sensitive course materials.
Native listening, speaking, reading and writing ability in English
Formal knowledge and practical experience in the syntactic, semantics, and phonological systems of English
Knowledge of current linguistic teaching methodology with emphasis on English as a foreign language (EFL)

Principal Duties and responsibilities:

Designs, administers, scores and reports results of English skills proficiency tests for evaluation, assessment, placement and screening purposes
Develops and teaches curriculum based on needs assessment, cultural considerations and current research in EFL theory, methodology and materials
Advises the director/assistant director of Educational services regarding English screening and assessment procedures for prospective students in Saudi Training programs such as the Saudi Nursing Administration program (SNAP). Teaches English classes for these students.

Provides English language courses offered at different levels for employees and upon completion of each course, provides the Director of Educational services with a written report of the results
Screens and assesses English skills (ESL) of newly hired nursing staff. Recommends and teaches English classes for these employees as necessary
Initiates and maintains confidential records and reports as required for effective functioning of the English program
Acts as a resource person in the department for any English language concerns
Assists in the development of English skills proficiency tests to screen and evaluate prospective employees
Researches and recommends culturally appropriate and instructionally sound textbooks and other necessary learning tools
Responsible for editing the education newsletter
Performs all other duties as required or assigned
Performs all duties in a professional effective and confidential manner
