We currently have an opportunity for a Compliance/Legal Officer with a leading funds services provider based in Dublin.

Overview of the role

This individual will be responsible for providing both proactive Compliance and Legal monitoring & support to the Operations areas. They will need to be extremely familiar with all local regulations and ensure they are followed.

In addition this person will need to work with the Compliance and Legal team in the UK and Caribbean to ensure all monitoring is completed in line with company Policy and all issues reported in a timely manner.

The individual will carry out compliance assessments and regular monitoring in the specified business areas and participate in implementing effective regulatory risk controls. This includes reviewing marketing material and operational procedures.

They will oversee the management of all the companies internal legal activities and external legal counsel on matters relating to the operation of ICF businesses, advises the Business on the legal implications of business development, respond to ad-hoc requests for legal advice on a range of business issues and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of key legal business issues and industry best practice.

Also the successful person will be expected to participate in cross-site & cross-functional projects

In addition to the above, the individual will be expected to contribute as a member of the management team. This will involve solving problems outside of the individual's immediate responsibilities, representing the views of the senior management team both inside and outside of the department and ensuring that the Dublin office is well respected within Fidelity and the local industry.

Requirements

• Irish compliance and legal experience, within a Fund business

• Good technical abilities and knowledge of the regulations (especially UCITs III)

• Good understanding of Fund Management industry.

• Flexible and hardworking with a real enthusiasm for supporting the growth of Fidelity's business

• Team player prepared to get involved

• The ability to analyse and assess situations and business models, identifying the inherent legal risks and the obstacles that need to be overcome, generating effective strategies and tactics.

• Qualified / part qualified lawyer

• Existing in-house experience would be advantageous
