Job Purpose/ Content
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Six Sigma Black Belt specialist who has the drive and determination to lead and deliver business improvement projects within a challenging General Insurance environment; utilising project management, Lean and six sigma methodologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and improving end to end customer and non-customer facing processes whilst working with all individuals from process owners through to agents to deliver improved customer service and business performance i.e. revenue growth, cost efficiencies.
The ideal candidate will be able to interact and influence at Executive level and demonstrate strong change management, relationship management and leadership skills with the ability to deliver challenging business results through the engagement of others. Challenging the 'status quo' is critical to ensure various business improvement projects are lead within a dynamic and changing environment.
Critically, knowledge of six sigma methodologies, skills and tools is paramount as the business unit is currently expanding its expertise within this area. Therefore, evidence of using the methodology across a variety of projects is critical.
In addition, the chosen individual will be required to act as a coach, mentor and trainer to individuals throughout the business unit (including the Executive Team) as well as lead a dedicated team of specialist resource.
Day to day responsibilities
- Utilisation of 6 sigma methodology and analysis tools i.e. Minitab to deliver improved customer service and business benefits
- Process development and improvement of customer and non-customer facing processes
- 6 sigma dashboard and spreadsheet development/ maintenance
- Project management of improvement projects related to processes under management
- Relationship Management of internal and external stakeholders i.e. Insurance & Group
- Facilitation of 'workouts' to develop processes under measurement and develop idea generation culture i.e. quick wins
- Report outputs to support Customer Services Director in positioning 6 Sigma Insurance performance
- Management and mentoring of individuals throughout the business unit (including the Executive Team) to develop the use of 6 sigma methodology to deliver business benefits
- Project and benefits reporting aligned to project deliverables
- Development of additional specific initiatives related to business-wide improvement
- Ideally the ability to train individuals to Six Sigma black belt standard
- Development of employee training and competence aligned to driving a high performance culture and to support succession planning Skills
