Workshop Engineer / Fitter Required - Dublin 24 €25,500 to €26,000
As Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, QA and other Company procedures at all times.
Responsibilities:
*To supervise and assist with all work being carried out in the workshop.
*Close liaison with Senior Workshop Engineer and General Manager as appropriate to ensure jobs are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule.
*Cleaning of large marine engine parts prior to overhaul
*Dismantling & Pressure testing coolers
*Dismantling / reassembly of cylinder heads, oil pumps, water pumps
*Inspection & calibration of cylinder head components, pistons, connecting rods
*Honing cleaning & calibration of cylinder liners
*Packing and strapping parts for dispatch to ships
*To ensure ISO 9000 standards are maintained in and around the workshop.
*To ensure that all activities in the workshop are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety obligations.
*To ensure that all workshop tools are stored in their allocated areas.
*Advise the Senior Workshop Engineer of tools and consumable requirements.
*Be responsible for general cleanliness and well being of the workplace.
*In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post
Development Responsibilities:
*Be aware of the Work instructions for overhauling components and understand them
*Understand the field service salary and grading structure and way of working e.g. procedures for field engineers
*Develop positive customer relations skills
*Develop ability to work with minimum supervision
*Develop ability to create positive team work
*Develop ability to liaise with customers about pricing of work and parts
Requirements:
*Apprenticeship/ For workshop, a person with fitting & basic machining skills is required.
*Forklift licence would be an advantage.
*A person with sea-going experience as a marine engineer would also be suitable.
