Head of Supply Chain
Our client, a leading global medical devices co. is seeking a leader to head up their international multi-site, multi-country, Supply Chain function and be an active member of the International Senior Management team.
Lead the Supply Chain function internationally ensuring a world-class, modern supply chain organisation is implemented in a manner that balances the supply chain business processes, technologies, commercial, operations & service levels with both internal and external customers.
Implement strategies that enable the business to achieve future growth objectives with an adaptive, scalable supply chain model that supports multi-format business units.
Achieve maximum shelf availability at the best competitive cost.
Contribute to the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Develop a modern supply chain strategy that supports the company's overall strategic business plan and performance objectives, as well, as customer expectations.
• Align demand forecasting, supplier collaboration, procurement, warehouse and store replenishment, inbound logistics, distribution and supply chain management processes with brand and sales priorities in a multi-site multi-country operation.
• Ensure that a seamless integrated supply chain business model results in an organisation that is efficient and responsive to customer requirements and growth demands.
• Have responsibility for profitability of the business and supporting the achievement of revenue targets.
• Pro-actively collaborate with Manufacturing and other departments to define the service requirements of all customers in the supply chain.
• Propose solutions and push the organisation to resolve challenges in the marketplace
• Insure that all commitments are made in accordance with the company's policies and that the commitments made to all customers can be fulfilled and implemented.
• Participate in executive level forums and strategy sessions that guide the development of people, programs and technology.
• Lead strategic improvement projects within the company's distribution centres.
• Lead and manage large scale change programs that may be driven by strategies to centralise, consolidate or transfer operations etc.
• Set and maintain schedules to ensure completion of core supply chain metrics in terms of cost and service.
• Provide leadership in process improvement programs to create and promote efficiency and the standardisation of best practices.
Essential Skills / Experience
• Minimum - Degree in Business Management, Logistics or related field is required; Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field an advantage.
• 8-12 years experience in supply chain management, 10+ year's direct management experience is essential
• Strong computer & systems knowledge including: forecasting software, ERP systems and SAP.
• Previous executive management experience in a large-scale distribution/logistics environment in a multi-site international context.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain industry systems, trends and best practices, with a proven track record of success in managing and implementing solutions in spite of operational challenges;
• Extensive experience with change management.
• Defining and managing Supply Chain budgets
• Strong problem solving skills for developing creative solutions and meeting project objectives are required.
• Excellent analytical ability
• The ability to prioritise tasks and be able to manage several projects and customers simultaneously; and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
