Company Description: Our client, an Irish multiple food retailer at the forefront of development, innovation and customer service in the Irish market. The brand is synonymous with quality in fresh foods and the fresh food department generates over half of the company sales.
We now seek applications from dynamic individuals looking to join the company's Ambient buying office
Key Responsibilities: To develop a plan to grow the category and implement business development plans incorporating range, price, promotion and supply chain.
Range strategy. Assess commercial performance of current range
Range Innovation Process. Assess current pricing and margin performance
Develop appropriate promotional strategies to drive profitability
Supply chain. Ensure that inbound service levels are on target
Cost of goods. Ensure that we are leveraging our group buying power effectively
Support the business units through development of working relationship with the sales teams and the key customers
Ensure appropriate performance review, development and succession management systems are operating effectively
Set team objectives & targets and monitor feedback on performance on an ongoing basis
Leads the team by example
Skills & Experience: You will have previous experience in a buying office environment working as a buyer.
Personal Characteristics: You will be a keen negotiator with a passion for food retailing or wholesaling, a people person with a commercial edge and a desire to drive your own business category forward. Ambitious, not only for yourself but for your company
