Description

Currently looking to hire a Network and Security Engineer for a Dublin based, high availability production environment. Must have sound knowledge of IT security practices and web based application architecture.
The successful candidate will contribute security and networking expertise as part of a multi-skilled team responsible for delivering technology solutions to extend, optimise and maintain production mission critical systems. Candidates must have a proven track record of network and security architecture, design and implementation and the ability to work with other technology disciplines to deliver solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Excellent prioritization skills to manage activities which range from configuring new switches, tackling network problems, proposing network designs to everything in between.
• Deploying and managing tools to monitor the production network.
• Testing new network hardware and looking at novel ways to improve network performance.
• Proposing, documenting and defending network designs and changes to network topology.
• Provide L2 and L3 support for network and security issues.
• Installation and support of new and existing WAN circuits.

Qualifications:
• B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Required
• Detailed knowledge and experience of networking protocols.
• 4+ years in designing and supporting large Enterprise networks.
• Strong problem solving experience required.
• Must demonstrate strong operating system skills in one or more of following: NT and/or UNIX/Linux.
• Candidate must demonstrate solid understanding of foundation technology concepts, such as Information Security practices, TCP/IP, operating system theory, distributed computing concepts (i.e. DNS, NFS), web based application architectures and traditional application architectures.
• Must have prior hands on experience with one or more of the following: Network protocol analysis in IP environment (i.e. snoop or tcpdump).
• Building and managing Firewalls. IPSEC and/or SSL Virtual Private Networks.
• Authentication and Authorization systems management.
