My client is looking for a Home Care Nurse to work on a part time contract basis across the west of Ireland.
You will need to be very flexible re working hours between Monday and Fridays (for e.g. you could have 1 days work this week, 2 days the following week and none the week after) The contract is expected to go on for up to 6 months
You will need to have a full driving license and car as this role involves travel across the West You will have a very minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in general IV Administration, training or community services
( RGN with ABA Pin and must have 100% fluent spoken and written english)
Job Description – Home Care Nurse
Reporting to: Nursing Director
Responsibilities:
• The home care nurse will provide clinical services patients in their homes in an effective and caring manner to a high standard that meets best practice. A key element of the job is the maintenance of accurate electronic records and the timely deliverance of certain micro reports immediately after a visit back to the clients and head office, followed by macro reports within 24-48hrs. The home care nurse should see the role as working as part of a team where the nurse uses their clinical, communication and interpersonal skills to provide a seamless service whilst at all times liaising closely with the nursing director and the clients multi disciplinary team.
Key Competencies:
• Demonstrable IV therapy experience including care of central venous access devices.
• Demonstrable computer skills in Word (preferable Microsoft Office) and email.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administration of IV therapy to patients to the highest clinical and ethical standards that meets best practice.
- Train home patients to self medicate
• Ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and yourself by following all procedures and guidelines.
• Keep abreast of current trends and developments in professional matters and in clinical care. Ensure that clinical skills are maintained.
• Assess the competence and confidence of patients/carers to manage their own IV administration and where appropriate and with client approval provide a comprehensive training programme in the home or work environment to allow self administration.
• Provide support and advice to family members.
