EHS Generalist - 12 Month Contract

Our client, a multinational based inCorkcurrently has an exciting contact opportunity for a suitably qualified EHS Generalist.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as a point of contact and knowledge on occupational health and safety related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory occupational health and safety and ergonomic requirements.
  • Implement, monitor and manage occupational health and safety programs.
  • Undertake audits as required to determine the effectiveness of occupational health and safety programmes.
  • Identify training needs / facilitate provision of external training / deliver occupational health and safety training as required.
  • Review effectiveness of EHS training and personnel competence.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments relevant to occupational health and safety
  • Undertake VDU assessments and oversee an Ergonomic program.
  • When required, Investigate accidents, incidents, and occurrences of ill-health.
  • Ensure that effective First Aid arrangements are in place.
  • Liaise with various business functions.
  • Liaise with external occupational health and safety service providers and agencies as required.
  • Support regional staff in occupational health and safety initiatives and activities.
  • Promote physical and mental health and well being.
  • Management of the Stress management program.
  • Analysis of occupational health and safety performance data.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in a Health and Safety discipline.
  • A recognised qualification associated with Occupational Health and Safety
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of environment, health and safety legislation
  • Good organisational and influencing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be experienced in designing and delivering training courses.
  • Good IT literacy skills.
  • Good Report writing skills.
  • Familiar with Risk Assessment methodology.
  • Have a good understanding of ergonomics.
  • Have worked in a team environment and have an understanding of team dynamics.
