Duty Manager required at Swan Omniplex, Rathmines
Swan Omniplex, 3 screen cinema, Rathmines now recruiting for a Duty Manager.
This multi functional role includes all duties at the Box office, Concessions and Floor. High levels of customer service and product knowledge will be required through supplying information, dealing efficiently with queries and assisting patrons wherever possible.
A Duty Manager is responsible for all aspects of the cinema operation. Promoting effective visitor services and efficient day-to-day controls the typical work activities include:
TYPICAL ORGANISATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Cinema managers are responsible for promoting effective visitor services, whilst ensuring business objectives are achieved. Typical work activities include:
- achieving audience and sales targets;
- ensuring audience satisfaction;
- advertising, promoting & marketing films locally to ensure optimum profit;
- handling press and public relations (PR);
- managing promotions within the cinema;
- budgeting and stock control;
- developing an understanding of the local market, including customer expectations;
- liaising with film societies and other groups within the industry;
- preparing reports, statistics and forecasts;
- complying with licensing and health and safety regulations;
- recruiting, training and supervising full and part-time staff to work as a team (HR);
- marketing the cinema within a local arena;
- organising duty rotas and wage requisitions;
TYPICAL DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
- A cinema manager is responsible for all aspects of the cinema operation including:
- cash control;
- concessions;
- dealing with customer and telephone enquiries;
- digital Projection;
- front of house;
- human resources;
- maintaining upkeep of auditoria;
- ticketing Office;

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIRED
Graduates of business studies, management, travel/tourism or recreation/leisure studies are preferred but not essential. 3 years Retail Management experience required.
KEY SKILLS FOR CINEMA MANAGERS
Personal qualities such as good problem solving, organisational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills are important. All candidates must be confident, commercially aware and capable of forming good relationships with a wide range of people. Good business and IT skills are also important.
