Job Description
Cork Chamber, on behalf of the Cork Entrepreneurship Steering Group (ESG) partner organisations, wishes to recruit a Project Coordinator to assist with the delivery of this remit and the implementation of the work plan. The individual appointed will be required to develop and lead a dynamic campaign in pursuit of the objectives of the ESG. The long-term objective of the ESG is to increase the rate of job creation in the Cork region and develop Cork as a hub of entrepreneurship. Knowledge of economic development issues, national and local enterprise policies, project/event management and practical experience of working as an editor/writer for online or print publications will all be advantageous.

The objectives of the Cork Entrepreneurship Steering Group are to:

Push for Cork to become a hub of entrepreneurship and an attractive destination for foreign venture capitalists.
· Facilitate better coordination and communication between all relevant stakeholders in the area of Entrepreneurship in Cork.
· Be proactive in promoting and cultivating an entrepreneurial culture throughout the Cork region in order to increase the rate of job creation and celebrate the successes of Cork entrepreneurs.
· Identify key support services including training for entrepreneurs in business development.
· Establish an online portal to provide information for entrepreneurs and start up businesses in Cork.
· Increase the ability, confidence and motivation of graduates in the Cork region to form their own company.

Key areas of work
Planning
·
To contribute to the development of the ESG work plan and to lead in the planning process for future activities.
· To identify the resources necessary (human, financial and material) to implement the ESG’s plan.
· To assess funding needs and identify potential sources of funding for the ESG.

Implementation
·
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
· To effectively manage the operational budget of the ESG.
· Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
· To recruit entrepreneurs and members of the Cork Diaspora to engage with the ESG.
· To design and deliver networking events and other events in accordance with the work plan.
· Attend ESG meetings as requested, and ensure that ESG documents and meeting agendas and minutes are prepared and circulated for meetings, including progress reports where appropriate.
· Review and report to the ESG on all new opportunities and developments concerning the scope of its operations.
· To develop and implement strategies to communicate the ESG’s work, to the entrepreneurship community in the region and the sharing of information online.

Monitoring and Evaluation
·
To monitor, analyse and input into the ongoing evaluation and development of the ESG.
· To prepare regular reports for the ESG and funders on all aspects of the ESG’s operation.
Marketing and Promotion
· To co-ordinate the ESG website and maintain the most up-to-date contents
· To create an awareness of the work of the ESG through social media and other online promotional tools.

Other
·
To professionally represent the ESG to key stakeholders and the public in general.
· Any other duties commensurate with the post.

Person Specification

The Project Coordinator should:
·
Be highly motivated, with vision and enthusiasm.
· Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Be confident in taking charge of budgets and measuring performance against targets.
· Have strong networking skills and the ability to build on relationships with partner organisations.
· Have excellent project management skills.

Essential experience:
·
Relevant third level qualification.
· Proven experience in developing high-level partnerships.
· Proven experience communicating with a range of audiences.
· Proven ability to carry out own administrative duties – including a high proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Experience in drafting and editing documents, white papers, reports and presentations.
· Knowledge of Social Media and Online Publications.


Essential skills and attributes:
·
Understanding of, and interest in, entrepreneurship in Ireland
· Ability to identify and build strategic relationships to support the sustainability of ESG.
· Strong time management skills with the ability to work according to tight deadlines.
