R&D Scene Viewing Manager

In partnership with its client, Kenny-Whelan is currently seeking an R&D Scene Viewing Manager to work for their client in the Co. Galway area.



Job Responsibilities:

· Provide support for RFQ activities including detailed customer requirements reviews

· Provide necessary resource to support Project 1 & Project 2 projects

· Participate in company system design in areas relating to scene viewing

· Take part in customer workshops to assess system performance and agree, plan & implement resolution paths for customer complaints

· Facilitate research into new video technology, ideas and approaches to ensure the organisation remains abreast of all leading edge/emerging Vision Technologies.

· Keep up to date with new standards and general market information in the Industry

· Sponsor innovation and creativity in the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation and IP through the patent process

· Work with the production design teams to agree specifications & design for Fisheye Calibration stations

· Represent the company at various Industry Working Groups and at Conferences

· Develop relationships with the relevant teams at our OEM customers with a view to influencing, or responding to, their needs.

· Overall responsibility for the Vision Technology & Expertise Group Scene Viewing team.

· Day-to-day Technical management of the group including resource management, task tracking and reporting of group activities.

· Prioritise workload and plan resource utilisation on an on-going basis

· Provide leadership and decision making guidance to the group

· Coordinate the activities of specialist staff who may be assigned to the group on a temporary or part-time basis from the Hardware, Software or Mechanical Engineering teams.

· Adhere to and coach staff to comply with internal Systems & Procedures

· Liaise with Project 1 and Project 2 Project Managers to agree resource requirements for projects

· Prepare detailed presentations for R&D Management reporting on the status of group activities as required






Skills, Abilities and Education


· Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electronic Engineering or equivalent

· 3 - 5 years experience in a technical team lead role a distinct advantage
