Job Title: Accountant - Cork

Reporting to: Management Accountant

KEY RESULT AREAS
  • While reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, the incumbent will take a lead role in the accounts for the site
  • Provide advice and financial support to Site management team and the wider finance department
  • Complete accurate and reliable weekly, monthly and year-end accounts for the site for all business metrics including journal entries, posting accruals and pre-payments, reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting
  • Development of Site budgets
  • Responsible for completing the yields and component report on a weekly basis
  • Reconciling accounts for monthly reporting
  • Weekly and monthly management reporting against key budget metrics e.g. gross margin analysis, production analysis, energy price/volume efficiency, maintenance, labour costs, transport and storage
  • Management reporting on raw materials, ingredients and finished product inventory
  • Overseeing accuracy of sales statistics (volume and price)
  • APPI reporting (POs, Requisitions, GRNs)
  • Review usage of consumables on a monthly basis
  • Conducting inventory analysis and control, including stock audits and inventory reconciliation
  • Completion of capital requisitions and GRNs.
  • Generate internal and external audit requirements for the site and ensure auditor queries and requirements are addressed
  • Approve and process payroll for hourly paid employees on a weekly basis
  • Identify trends and areas for continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Additional ad-hoc support and special projects as required


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Provide reliable and accurate information to the business on a weekly and monthly basis to facilitate effective decision making by senior management
  • Based on KPIs identified, maintain a consistent system of business analysis reporting
  • Completion of work to tight deadlines without comprising quality of output
  • Quality of contribution to deliver the financial targets for the Co-op and meet the overall business strategy
  • Ability to make recommendations to the business based on key trends and monthly reports
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Monitoring, reviewing and challenging KPIs variances for the business on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Driving audit ready processes through the business unit
  • Demonstrated record of retention of application and application of technical skills
  • Implements solutions identified for internal customers
  • Achievement of individual goals


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Part-qualified/Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • 2+ years accountancy experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Capable of understanding the underlying processes in producing financial data
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others at all levels in the organisation and a proven working relationship with people
  • Acts as the first point of contact for Site Finance and actively seeks to gain knowledge of the business
  • Ability to apply technical skills to the job at hand
  • Strong business acumen and commercially aware
  • Strong computer literacy and competent with accounting and Microsoft packages
  • Previous use of Oracle is advantageous
  • Proven track record of strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and focus on and meet task deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues
  • Willingness to assist in a team environment and to adapt to challenges in the course of achieving departmental and Group objectives.
