JOB TITLE: IT Infrastructure Manager




PURPOSE:


¨ Responsible for day-to-day running and availability of the companys infrastructure;

¨ Team lead of IT Infrastructure team;

¨ Planning of IT infrastructure work - based on project and business as usual requirements;

¨ Drive continuous improvements to processes and procedures within IT infrastructure team.


PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


1. Lead the definition of Infrastructure Strategy and make appropriate proposals to management for the purposes of Business Planning, etc.

2. Lead and develop less experienced Systems administrators in projects/day to day support related to the IT infrastructure.

3. Has primary responsibility for IT infrastructure team, including planning, scheduling, and delivery of assignments and review of work.

4. Provide information and support in the achievement of goals relating to SLA’s, system performance, reliability, security, availability, and infrastructure projects.

5. Work with other parts of IT to deliver services, within Service levels agreed.

6. Continually monitor, assess & improve the performance, reliability and security of appropriate hardware/software systems to identify and correct problems which impact on operating efficiency and work quality;

7. Maintain active liaison with internal business teams and relevant IT teams to ensure that IT infrastructure maintains continuous service/process improvement in solution(s) offered;

8. Acts as a project leader on infrastructure projects

9. Ensure the maintenance of adequate software / hardware systems documentation;

10. Provide recommendations/justification to management to purchase or lease system software packages and related hardware;

11. Provides technical assistance to systems administrators in the resolution of complex system-related problems.

12. Maintain relationships with external parties.

13. Undertake any other duties assigned by Senior Management which are consistent with your expertise and skills.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


    At least 3 years commercial experience with virtualisation technologies, ideally VMware based
    At least 5 years working in a structured environment including prescriptive processes for IT change control
    At least 3 years’ experience with Microsoft server technologies including Windows Server, SQL Server and SharePoint
    Familiar with ITIL concepts
    At least 3 years’ experience in managing an IT team
