Our long established Clare based multinational now has an excellent opportunity for Technical Purchasing Co-Ordinator/Snr Buyer to join their team on 6 to 9 month contract.
JOB PURPOSE:
To co-ordinate the technical purchasing function with regard to the effective procurement of Building and Engineering Services as well as high value technical equipment including the responsibility for related contracts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Source, negotiate and buy (order processing) all building-, engineering, capital and other goods and services according to tender documentation / specifications and the relevant company standards.
§ To develop and negotiate building- engineering-, service- and supply contracts / agreements / with potential contractors
§ To ensure adherence to the companies policy for external commercial or contractual commitments and to establish Technical Purchasing as an internal service provider
§ Maintain Budget control and reporting on all sourcing projects in described fields
§ Market research and negotiation with potential contractors for optimum service, quality and price
§ Work on continuous improvements of project related purchasing processes and internal technical purchasing policies
§ Develop adequate measures to monitor the purchasing function and report on a monthly basis
§ Ensure involvement of purchasing at project initiation stage
§ Ensure all necessary tender-documentation and specifications are collected from internal requisitioners.
§ Liaise with contractors on contractual performance, contractual disturbances and miscellaneous queries
§ Ensure all requested documentation for projects & purchasing subjects are collected from contractor
§ Liaise closely with all requisitioners especially engineering, technical services and maintenance with regard to information exchange, project management, selection of suppliers / contractors etc.
§ Be part of Project Teams and Participate in regular technical project-team meetings with regard to commercial aspects and project progress
§ Strategic Planning of all commercial aspects for projects
§ Manage all maintenance and facility management contracts & contractors
§ Closely liaise with the Supply Chain Manager with regard to technical procurement policies, strategies, projects and negotiations
§ To incorporate the guiding principles of company QA-System., Environmental & Safety-policies into daily work practices
§ To update policies, guidelines & procedures on a regular basis
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
§ Diploma / Degree in Business studies or Engineering or equivalent
§ Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role / in a similar environment
§ Excellent technical understanding
§ Excellent knowledge in contract law
§ Strong & proven Negotiation- and problem solving skills
§ Computer literacy including a thorough knowledge of SAP
§ Knowledge of regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical environment and strong business awareness.
§ Excellent project management-, time management-, presentation, written- and verbal communication- and interpersonal skills
