Our Multinational Client based in the Midwest has a requirement for a Senior Buyer for a 12 month contract.

Duties:

  • Responsible for processing, approval, and conversion of requisitions and positioning material to meet plant requirements and provide the associated reporting of same.
  • Responsible for checking and approving requisitions raised on JDE.
  • Obtain confirmation on spot buy activity on spends over €7k
  • Obtain competitive bidding on spends over $30k
  • Source the requested items from the approved supplier and update requisition on JDE with the relevant costs and terms
  • Follow up with suppliers on quotations not received
  • Issue weekly reports on requisitions rejected
  • Submit requisitions for approval in accordance with the ASL
  • Convert requisitions to Purchase Orders and release to supplier through Optio
  • Issue weekly reports on number of requisitions processed and number of requistions per requisitioner
  • Issue an overdue report status on a monthly basis
  • Maintain supporting documentation in a central location


Education/Requirements

  • Third level business qualification or IIPMM/APICS desirable
  • 3-5 years purchasing experience in high volume environment essential.
  • High level of technology awareness
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
