Buyer / Planner - Longford.
In this role you will be responsible for the planning and procurement of goods and services in support of customer requirements, utilizing planning and purchasing best practice techniques to achieve corporate cost, quality, delivery and vendor development initiative targets.
The job is autonomous and the individual must accept total ownership of performance against the customer need dates and ensure compliance at all levels of the execution plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for purchases and recommendations for supplier base management of goods and services in support of customer requirements.
• Ensuring purchasing best practice techniques are utilized in the achievement of Company objectives.
• Ensuring at all times vendor delivery, quality and cost performances adhere to expectations.
• Communication with senior delegates from the company and the vendor community ensuring messages and instructions are correctly and promptly progressed or actioned.
• Development and implementation of cost reduction strategies to support increasing customer expectations.
• Ensure all planned purchasing and production requirements are demand driven and that schedules are agreed, tracked and achieved to meet On Time Delivery goals.

Ability to strongly negotiate in a professional and positive manner is required.
Key Experiences and Knowledge Required:
Relevant technical or business qualification is desirable.
Working Knowledge of supplier development programs.
CIPS or equivalent desirable.
Data analysis, problem solving and decision making.
Strong systems experience, MS Office is essential and knowledge of an ERP system, particularly SAP is extremely desirable.
