A superb opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer / Automation Engineer to join our client, a maintenance outsourcing and asset management company. You will be working from a client site in Limerick, where they use highly automated production processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a successful company. For the right candidate, there is the strong possibility this will become a permanent position.
As a Project Engineer / Automation Engineer, your role will comprise project design, new product introduction, software and team management.
You will be responsible for managing automation projects and control system modifications, ensuring that verification and validation procedures are implemented. You will continuously improve processes, apply operational excellence and eliminate waste.
Your duties will include:
- Developing and reviewing project specification and validation documents
- Researching, analysing, documenting, recreating and resolving technical issues
- Developing detailed control system and troubleshooting documentation
- Managing automation vendors and contractors
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Project Engineering experience, gained within a high volume manufacturing environment
- A proven track record of leading projects
- Experience of working with PLCs such as Siemens and Allen Bradley
- A degree in a relevant discipline, such as automation, engineering or IT
As a Project Engineer / Automation Engineer, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A keen attention to detail is also key.
Although not essential, experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or another regulated industry would be an advantage to your application. Knowledge of robotics and moulding techniques would also be of benefit.
