Internal Auditor (with language)

Dublin West

Reporting to a Group Internal Audit Manager, and based in their outstanding offices in Dublin, this role represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, career focused Accountant to join a dynamic team and experience rapid professional development and exposure to companies and cultures across the group.

You will have trained in practice - Big 4, Top 20 or SME. You will have a second European language, possibly French, German or Spanish (it is not required to be 100% fluent, good understanding is sufficient). Other European languages are also welcomed. One to one tutoring also provided.

This business is known for the career development of its staff due to the sheer size of the finance department. Important to know, the role undertaken in year one will not be the role undertaken in year two or three so this is a fantastic opportunity to move from practice into industry and develop a commercial awareness of how a business of such stature and size is run.

The Role in brief
  • Individually, or working as part of a small team, carry out multi-scope reviews of operational and financial risk management and control at its worldwide subsidiaries
  • Co-ordinate communication and activities with internal audit teams in other countries
  • Devise practical solutions, and offer advice and guidance to issues that arise in the course of this work
  • Carry out special project work as requested


Experience required

  • Experience in a top 20, Big 4 or SME accounting firm or equivalent financial role in an operating company
  • Qualified Accountant with a good working knowledge of IFRS
  • Proficiency in second European language - French, German, Spanish or other - fluent or almost fluent
  • Experience in Sarbanes Oxley, Corporate Governance, Internal Control Evaluation and Compliance and Substantive Testing
  • A good understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
  • As you will be expected to drive at various locations throughout the world, a full clean driver's licence is essential
  • Proficiency in English both verbal and written.
