Purpose:

Overall management and performance of the assigned Business Unit. The Recruitment Team Lead partners with senior management to define the strategic direction and business unit specific objectives. They are responsible for leading and managing the business unit to successfully achieve personal and business goals, promote growth and maximize market opportunity for the division.

Key Responsibilities:

Fee Growth & Business Development

Responsible for achieving business unit objectives and for growth and development of the business unit.

  • Developing and setting budgets annually (Temp & Perm) for the business unit that reflect current and future market conditions.
  • Ensuring that the business unit is adequately resourced to provide a specialist, high level and comprehensive service to clients and to maximise commercial opportunities in the remit.
  • Devising creative talent acquisition strategies and campaigns to ensure consistent delivery of the appropriate CV : Placement ratio for key clients.
  • Managing and developing relationships with key clients and candidates through regular communication, customer feedback surveys and delivering consistently against SLAs.
  • Monitoring trends and activity in the specialist area(s) to detect opportunities or the need for change or adaptation of strategy or methodology to retain and improve business competitiveness and advantage.
  • Monitoring competitor activity.
  • Networking extensively to increase existing business and create new business with key clients within the target market.
  • Acting as Fastnet’s SME (Subject Matter Expert) Developing and maintaining an expert knowledge of this specialist sector
  • Generating monthly reports analysing actual performance against KPIs and budgets.
  • Achieving agreed annual growth and development targets for the business unit.
People Leadership

Responsible for managing & motivating the team and maximising the potential of the business unit.

  • Developing and communicating vision and expectation levels to unit members; in line with Fastnet’s corporate vision and strategic direction.
  • Setting budgets and projections for the team that are challenging, realistic and which maximize business development opportunities in the areas within the remit.
  • Ensuring appropriate training and induction of new recruits to Fastnet quality standards.
  • Providing timely, motivating and accurate performance management reviews as per agreed processes and timelines.
  • Providing continuous leadership and coaching to the team, ensuring delivery of KPIs, personal development objectives and achievement of career objectives where possible.
  • Consistently providing feedback and communication to unit members related to company, business unit and individual performance.
  • Empowering unit members to work autonomously and make decisions based on established quality standards and methodologies.
  • Ensuring process standardization and CI within the business unit to maintain and improve quality standards.
  • Mentoring, nurturing, developing & retaining new & existing talent and building a high performing team.
  • Promoting a team ethos and encouraging camaraderie.
  • Succession planning.
  • Leading by example and fostering a culture of innovation, achievement and continuous improvement.
Customer Service & Relationships

Responsible for maintaining and developing Fastnet’s reputation for quality, integrity and a partnership approach. Endeavouring to exceed expectations of all stakeholders consistently.

  • Possessing a deep understanding of technical and cultural requirements of key clients and ensuring colleagues are informed and competent at service delivery to the required standards.
  • Building, maintaining and nurturing partnerships with key customers though consistent delivery against SLAs and regular telephone and 1:1 communication.
  • Providing a high ‘turnkey’ level of service to target/niche candidates and ensuring all applicants are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Conducting, reviewing and evaluating periodic customer satisfaction surveys. Exploring creative ways in which the Fastnet customer experience can be further enhanced.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any escalated issues that may arise to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Keeping abreast of relevant legislative changes that may impact.
  • Collaborating with other BULs to maximize opportunities for the organisation and cross sell other Fastnet services.


Financial Management & Administration

Responsible for the Financial Management and performance of the Business Unit and for ensure accurate records are maintained for the Business Unit

  • Generate monthly quarterly and annual reports based on performance against KPIs, budget and business development targets.
  • Maintain accurate performance management and HR-related reports
  • Ensure all client and candidate communications maintained and updated on the Voyager system.
Prior Experience and Qualifications

  • Technical and/or business degree. A HR qualification would be an advantage.
  • Highly driven, motivated and outcome focussed.
  • Energetic, creative, flexible and resilient.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, inspire and motivate others.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • A proven track record of success in the recruitment sector.
  • Exposure to the pharmaceutical, medical device and/or food sectors would be advantageous.
  • A commitment to a partnership approach and to the highest professional standards.
