Job Title: Assistant Manager

Job Scope

The Role:

Supporting the management of commercial loans to optimize portfolio return and identify, treat and minimize the risk of credit default. Successful candidates will have a background in working with commercial lending clients and a strong credit review and /or risk analysis experience.

Essential Duties

The successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting the lending team in the day to day administration of a portfolio of lending clients.

  • Day to day administration of a portfolio of loans with emphasis on ensuring compliance with the various codes of practice.
  • Prepare credit papers and work closely with the Manager prior to presenting to credit committee.
  • Prepare regular team reports and report to senior management.
  • Ensure all account maintenance, documentation and file management is maintained to the highest possible standards.
  • Work closely with the client base to ensure all queries and requests are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure issues are identified, escalated as appropriate and addressed promptly

Job Specifications

Essential Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in Banking within a Lending environment.
  • Experience in working in the property and SME sector would be an advantage.
  • Excellent financial analysis and credit analysis skills.
  • Proven track record in working with and understanding banking clients

Skills and Abilities:
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail along with strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good communication skills both orally and written
  • Deep understanding of the compliance, regulation and codes of conduct affecting the banking industry and the ability to find solutions to adhere to these principles.
  • Able to adapt to change and thrive in a banking environment
  • Ability to effectively engage with other areas of the business to support inter-departmental projects and processes which directly impact the business
  • Ability to achieve results and a proven commitment to attaining desired goals
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing skills necessary.
  • Strong team player as well as the ability to work on own initiative.

  • Relevant Business Degree with a minimum of a 2.1 and/or accountancy qualification
  • QFA Qualified
