Permanent Job based in Dublin, Ireland with a high level of International Travel.
Eden Recruitment is working closely with a Telecoms OEM which is looking to recruit a team of LTE and 3G Optimisation /Integration Engineers for on-site deployment with their International clients. Deployment locations can include OpCo’s located in North and Sub Sahara Africa. Other territories supported include the Middle East and Gulf Region.
IMPORTANT: Suitable applicants must be flexible to spend long periods of time Consulting /Working on client OpCo sites (Up to 3 months at a time). Successful applicants should expect to spend up to 75-85% of their time deployed.
Job Description:
- As part of the LTE Optimisation Team (based in Ireland), the RAN Optimisation Engineers will support clients in “under-resourced regions” to ensure service delivery projects (implementations and optimization) are fulfilled on time to agreed SLA’s.
- These roles will suit Senior Technical Engineers with strong end-to-end Technical knowledge within the the RAN area, with demonstrable Communication and Consultative skills.
Senior Optimisation Engineers (acting as technical lead working with local resources) will be tasked with optimizing customer networks and proposing necessary solutions for improving performance.
- Must have a high level of customer interaction at multiple levels working through full lifecycle of the project (full lifecycle: Implementation, Optimisation, Realisation & Handover phases).
- Study customers coverage expansion requirements and work out Node B Plan on the planning tool
- Perform Network wide nominal planning for LTE/3G/UMTS rollout
- Perform LTE/3G/UMTS coverage and capacity planning and pre launch tuning
- Plan the Node Bs in a 3G RF planning tool with optimized antenna azimuths, antenna types, antenna heights, tilts etc
- Perform CPICH and channel power allocation
- Assign Node B RF parameters
- Define optimal neighbour relationships
- Scrambling code planning
- Formulate capacity upgrade and/or plan new site/s to address capacity issues region wide
- Study traffic and resource utilization figures and make suggestions
- Dimensioning of RAN Network (CEs, Channel Cards, Node Bs, RNCs) for coverage and capacity and quality requirements
- Analysis of site performance after integration using drive test measurements.
- Education to degree level
- Excellent WCDMA Radio Knowledge (Radio Propagation, Air Interface and Protocols, Cellular NW principle, Interference, Traffic estimation)
- Excellent understanding of RAN features and parameters
- Good knowledge of Planning tools
- Knowledge of Propagation Model Tuning Knowledge of all 3G Network elements and their main characteristics
- This position will probably be most suited to engineers with greater than 6 years telecom experience, including at least one significant LTE project
- Good track record in engaging with customers
