My client has a requirement for a Production Planner to support production and work with SIOP /MPS Analyst to ensure customer requirements are met, while minimising production costs and optimising inventory levels.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Planner. The ideal candidate will have direct experience of planning with particular reference to Order Scheduling, Planning, Demand Management, Production Control & ERP systems.

As a Production Planner, your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Review customer orders on a daily, weekly and monthly frequency.
  • Support the development of the weekly MPS.
  • Generate and release production schedules for assigned work centres in accordance with MPS.
  • Monitor Finished Goods stock levels to maintain agreed safety stocks and meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Monitor daily production levels and maintain Production Schedules.
  • Measure and report on production performance to plan.
  • Recommend re-schedules of the Master Production Schedule where necessary.
  • Provide necessary input to MRP activity.
  • Attend daily production planning meeting.
  • Support/attend NPI build planning meeting
  • Be a key member of the Planning & Logistics Team.
  • Supports the development of the capacity planning model with a view to level loading work centres
  • Monitor WIP levels to agreed target levels.

  • Additional Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and verification of Cycle Count data.
  • Manage impact of ECO's, on MPS and Production Schedules.
  • Oversee planning of products that are going end-of-life.
  • Collecting production data and attending daily / weekly production meetings.
  • Communicate issues that impact on schedules to the Materials and other relevant Departmental Managers.
  • Ensure relevant ERP information is maintained current and accurate.
  • Participate on NPI Projects.


  • Experience / Qualifications:

    Engineering / Business Degree or the equivalent. Ideally IIPMM or APICS accreditation.

    3+ Years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics, is desirable.

    A knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous as would an excellent working knowledge of ERP systems and spreadsheets.
