Our client is a dynamic telecoms firm with enviable growth and due to this continued growth are now hiring a network engineer. This is a permanent job, based full time on site in Limerick, and with regular travel within Ireland. Key Responsibilities
• Network operations including supervision and analysis of network alarms, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network faults
• Circuit build including design, configuration and interconnect mapping for access and core nodes.
• Design, build and verification of new network infrastructure and platforms
• Network configuration changes, platform migrations and Change management
• Network maintenance and enhancement including collocation facility infrastructure
• Participation in company emergency callout rota
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong practical background NOC/Transmission/IP;
• Strong knowledge of MPLS and IP/Ethernet (preferably using Alcatel Lucent hardware);
• Strong skills in SDH essential, with experience of Tellabs 6300 platform an advantage.
In addition, any of the following skills would be an advantage:
• Good general understanding of transmission network principles;
• Telecommunications operator and/or vendor experience in a transmission environment;
• Familiarity with one (or more) of the following vendor platforms – Alcatel Lucent, Ciena or Tellabs
• Telecom vendor experience in testing and validation of carrier class platforms
• Cisco CCNA or other IP/Ethernet certification
