Telecoms - Sales - National Sales Manager

Our Client, a leading National Telecommunications Company currently seek a National National Sales Manager

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Responsible for achievement of Business connection targets in the company
  • Responsible for the Management of National Sales Team - Regional Offices & Sales Support Teams, both Field and Office Based.
  • Development of segmentation based propositions for the Sales Team
  • Responsible for retention of customers where necessary and working closely with Account Management Team.
  • Deal with any critical related issues that arise on a daily basis e.g. escalated customer issues etc
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the the Sales Function, including the implementation of the agreed strategies within the Team.
  • Working with the Heads of Other Channels to develop strategies and forward planning for new Business opportunities.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of new procedures and work practices.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, implement HR Policy and handle personnel issues for the team.
  • Manage internal and external relationships. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with all other Sales Teams and other departments (Finance, CRM and Product) in particular the Corporate Team, Indirect sales Channel.
  • Manage campaigns / projects relevant to the Sales Team for the business sectors, from inception to implementation; ensuring no direct conflict with other channels.
  • Work with Marketing to implement 'acquisition' campaigns and increase business connections.
  • Work closely with individual members of the Regional Teams to provide support and backup. Meet with individual managers / teams where necessary on a one-to-one basis fortnightly and as a team every other week
  • Hold local meetings with the Regional Office staff and assist in decisions to support them.
  • Provide reports to Head Business and Independent Channels, including details on projects currently being worked on, as well as updated sales figures.Reports to include New Activations, Total Appointments, Call to Order Ratio, Average Order Value, Forecast for coming week -meet on a Monthly basis to discuss current issues and future development.
  • Implement both Paperwork and Commission Procedures and Targets.
  • Work with Head Business and Other Channels developing strategies and forward planning.
  • Work with Head of Business and Other Channels and Marketing on how we can future develop the channel - New Price Plans, products, Sales material, campaigns, databases, leads, incentives etc)
  • Responsible for increasing and maintaining overall productivity of the Direct channel including the setting of targets and goals for their teams.
  • Identify training needs and put in place ongoing training schedules for Team.
  • Responsible for maintaining personal level of expertise in the areas of Field Sales, Industry / Technical knowledge and Management practices.
  • Work within the defined budget.
Requirements/ Essential Skills / Attributes

Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role having run a regional and/or local sales / business team. Wide experience of business markets including direct sales, account retention and account penetration with an understanding of Telesales

Excellent interpersonal, coaching and presentation skills

Needs to have a clear understanding of the business market.

Will be required to travel nationwide regularly.
