Yves Rocher Manufacturing (Ireland), is located at Kilbarry Business Park, Dublin Hill on the North side of Cork City. The Cork based Operation is part of an International Company which is supported by 3 major Distribution Networks. The Yves Rocher Group turned over a total of 2 Billion Euro in 2001, an increase of 10.2 % over the previous year.

With a presence on 5 continents and in 88 countries, employing 13,500 personnel and with more than 215,000 additional indirect jobs, the Yves Rocher Group has confirmed its position as a major player in the Cosmetics sector.

With its brands Yves Rocher, Daniel Jouvance, Dr Pierre Ricaud, Le Monde en Parfum, Kiotis and, now, Galerie Noémie, the Yves Rocher Group continues to conquer new markets, carving out a special place for the Yves Rocher Group in the world of cosmetics.This position is now also reinforced in the domestic cleaning and home decoration sector with Stanhome and in the textiles industry with Petit Bateau and Françoise Saget.

Research and Development of New Products is conducted at the Groups Headquarters in Paris. The new products that are developed there are ultimately launched in manufacturing facilities such the one in Cork. Initially the products are manufactured in the Plant pilot batch manufacturing facility and afterwards move to full scale manufacture stage.

With the aim of serving customer demand within the best possible conditions of quality, delivery times and cost, the Yves Rocher Group is committed to the development of an exemplary industrial policy.

With an annual output of approximately 475 million products the Yves Rocher Group has equipped itself with sophisticated tools to develop its business.

The Company has Five manufacturing units:
• Les Villes-Geffs, Britttany for personal cleansing products, hair products and bodycare products,
• Ploërmel, Brittany manufactures Perfume ranges,
• Rieux, Brittany - manufacturers Makeup ranges,
• Signes, in South East France, for creams and lotions,
• Cork in Ireland for plant extracts, floral waters and Beauty Skin Care Creams.

Petit Bateau manufacturers textiles in Troyes (2 sites), in Tonnerre, in Morocco and Tunisia with two plants in Marrakech and Sfax, respectively.

Logistical Challenges:
In order to improve flexibility the Yves Rocher Group is set to open an ultra-modern Logistics Platform in La Gacilly in Brittany which is intended to supply France and the Export subsidiaries, it will centralise all storage, dispatch, transport and supply operations.
Currently under construction on a 13-hectare plot, this logistics platform covering 25,000 sq. meters will open at the end of 2002. Internationally and for the cosmetics sector, each of the Group's major countries now has its own distribution site. In France, it is the plant La Croix des Archers that is responsible for this activity for Store Sales and Mail Order.

Standards:
Inventor of ecological beauty, the Yves Rocher brand has made protecting the environment its top priority. Its industrial sites are some of the first in Europe to obtain ISO 14001 certification. But it doesn't stop there – to show its commitment and constant efforts to improve all production sites, the Group has resolved to have all of its cosmetics manufacturing plants certified according to ISO 9000 norms. This demanding quality demonstrates the company's deep commitment to its products and to its customers.

To support its expansion, the Group has also invested in optimising its services and finished products with the implementation of a Quality Action Plan, so that it can guarantee its customers the best level of service - this will be a great challenge in the years to come.

Ireland and Yves Rocher:
Yves Rocher Group commenced operations in Ireland in 1981, initially located in Hollyhill, Cork, where the Company manufactured Herbal Extracts. The Cork operation relocated to its current location in 1984. Here the Company opened a Skin Care Creams Manufacturing Facility alongside the Extracts Manufacturing facility relocated from Hollyhill.

Today, Yves Rocher Manufacturing (Ireland) is an 11,000 square metre facility employing 250 people. The Cork site is one of five plants in the Purchasing and Manufacturing Division operating in accordance with ISO 9002/14001 standards.

The Company in Cork manufactures all products to final customer specification which from the end of 2002 will be exported directly from Cork to the Companies Logistics Platform in France. There the products are prepared for distribution to the various sales networks throughout the world. The Group is unique in that it controls the distribution channel from Product Conception to Final Customer level.

Yves Rocher Manufacturing (Ireland) is an integral part of the Yves Rocher business and has enjoyed on going growth in volume which has allowed the business in Ireland to consolidate its position within the Yves Rocher Group.
