Champions League: Rangers can overcome injury crisis - de Boer

Friday, March 02, 2001
Ronald de Boer is confident Rangers can overcome a mounting injury crisis at Ibrox to secure a Champions League place next season.

Claudio Reyna and Tugay both returned from international duty with injuries to join de Boer and several other regular first-team players in the treatment room.

But the Dutch international insists that the Light Blues will remain focused on challenging leaders Celtic.

"Hearts are in pretty good form at the moment but we must push on until the end of the season to make sure we at least get second place," de Boer told his personal website.

"Of course, it's disappointing that Celtic are so far ahead, but you have to believe that it won't always be like that.

"If we can keep focused on winning our games, then things will change.

"Claudio has come back injured from the USA's vital World Cup qualifying victory against Mexico.

"So that just adds to our injury problems ahead of the game against Hearts at the weekend."
