Q: I was standing in for a woman on maternity leave and was told she was coming back next monday and that I was told i was finished that day(I wouldnt be working the monday)am I entitled to a weeks notice?


A: Your notice period should be specified in your contract of employment. 

If you do not have one, the length of notice depends on how long you have been working with your employer and typical notice period for the level of responsibility. 

Without knowing these factors, I estimate you would be entitled to one week’s notice. You should google the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act.
