Questions in a second interview

Q. I attended an interview and was called for a second one. What type of questions should I expect? Will it be a new set of questions altogether? Eimear

A. The second interview will frequently involve more detailed questions. If the line manager for the role you are applying for did not sit in on the first interview, he or she in all likelihood will be present at the second interview.

You may find some of the questions will overlap. For example, ‘why do you want to work here’ ‘what do you think you will bring to the role.’ You may be given specific scenarios and they will ask what you would do in that situation. Some organisations ask candidates at second interviews to do a case study or deliver a presentation, but you would usually be told of this in advance.
