Chinese tech company Huawei is to create more than 50 jobs at a new Research and Development centre.

This will bring the number of R&D personnel in Ireland to 120.

The company is to open the office in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin and take on the new staff next year.

Huawei said the investment will create the company’s lead research centre in Ireland working alongside other offices in Dublin, Cork and Athlone.

The project is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.
