Salary Guide 2017: Sales

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

There has been an upswing in recruitment as organisations expand their lean sales teams particularly within telco, FMCG and IT sectors.

The continued growth of EMEA sales hubs in Dublin has driven strong demand for inside sales specialists with a European language. There is an oversupply of field sales reps available particularly those with retail & FMCG experience. Conversely, there is an under supply of candidates available for sales roles within specialist areas such as medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Commentary on Sales Roles and Remuneration in Ireland for 2017

Candidates at the mid - senior management level are looking for opportunities that have a broader remit such as a focus on the EMEA region.

Outside of the inside sales roles with languages which typically attract candidates across the European union, the majority of candidates are already employed in Ireland and seeking to change roles. We have also seen renewed interest from Irish nationals in the UK wishing to relocate home, opportunity dependent.

Hiring within the sales sector in very much based upon experience. Given the target driven nature of these roles - achievement of Key Performance Indicators and targets are the key drivers in hiring decisions. We expect salaries in 2017 will remain on par with 2016.
