Search tips

It really is as easy as 1-2-3!'s Agency / Employer Search, Location Search, Category Search and Keyword Search are four ways to indicate your preferences. You may make a selection in all four categories, three categories, two categories or just one category.

Agency / Employer Search

To retrieve all jobs, click on all. If you want to narrow your search, select agency jobs only or employer jobs only.

Location Search

If you are looking for a position in a particular county, or region, click on one of the options listed here. If you are not seeking employment in a particular region, do not click on any of the locations.

Category Search

To search for jobs in a specific category, click on the appropriate selection. If you are not looking for a position in a certain category or it is not listed, do not click on any of the categories.

Keyword Search

Use extra words to narrow your search. If you include more than one word, all those words must appear in the job description. If you put oracle java into the keyword, search, all jobs with both java and oracle in the job description will appear. You do not need to use "and" or "or".

Keywords are words and phrases that describe technical and professional experience.

By typing in keywords that describe the position you are seeking and clicking on "search now", job postings in the database containing your keyword(s) are retrieved for you to view.

To see the actual job posting, click on the job title to learn more about the position.

Search Results Page

If your search matches more than 25 jobs, you have the option to page through the jobs at the top or bottom of the screen.

What is the "Shortlist"?

The star next to the advert on the search results will add your chosen job advert to a shortlist. The shortlist allows you apply for several jobs at one time.  When finished searching, click on 'Shortlist' to view your selected jobs. You can edit these before applying.

Remember you can only add a maximum of 20 jobs.
