Payroll Clerk / Accounts Assistant (Pay to Bill Clerk)

Reporting to: Accounts Manager


This role involves the accurate processing of a high volume weekly payroll on Merit software and invoice generation through Sage, Compliance with Revenue rules, effective communication with colleagues and account managers. Vital to this role is experience in a high volume payroll environment and also advanced Excel and familiarity with MS Office systems.

Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure receipt of timesheets, authorised Excel payroll files in a timely fashion and support deadlines set by the business.

- Escalate any late receipts to appropriate business managers.

- Ensuring new individuals applied for processing are compliant with revenue roles for PPS and bank details.

- Provide appropriate guidance where requested on regularisation of tax affairs.

- Effective record management and file management

- Ensure adequate attention to detail with regard to the preparation of invoices and reconciliation with hours paid.

- Previous experience with ROS services is vital to the effective delivery of success in this role.

Ideal Candidate:


IPASS qualification/ IATI qualification.

Appropriate level of education and work experience to be able to effectively fulfil the support functions required by the business.


Excellent professional communicator, Strong Commercial acumen, Exacting attention to detail, Strong demonstrable Computer, IT and Digital Skills with particular focus on Excel, Merit, Sage and MS office applications.

Personal Qualities:

Positive, professional and proactive in the attainment of goals.

Enthusiastic attitude to work and overcoming challenges.

Ability to interact and create a professional rapport at all levels.
