Electrical Engineer - County Clare.

In this role you will part of a multi-disciplinary design team and will act as the primary owner of electrical design for the electronic solutions being designed.

The primary role of the Electrical Engineer will be to act as the subject matter expert in the areas of design for Signal Integrity, schematic design, component selection, PCB design / layout, sample build, and test. You will be a member of a team whose role is to ensure that new products are delivered into production on time, to budget and to the technical performance expectations defined at the start of the project. Some customer interaction will be required on a technical level.

Core responsibilities will include:

Electrical component selection in co-ordination with global procurement teams
Schematics development (circuit & magnetics topology)
PCB layout & DFM
Knowledge of design & test for EMC/EMI compliance
Electrical Testing
Customer design support for system level transmission compliance
Support to technical customer base and Standards Association activities
Comply with company processes and procedures for all engineering activities

Interested applicants should have:

Level 8 Hons Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, preferably a Master's.

At least 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
Proven history of successful project execution in a manufacturing environment
Signal Integrity / Electro-magnetic transmission lines experience an advantage
Magnetics design, specification & optimisation skills
Knowledge of Ethernet transmission
Experience and understanding of network analysers & S-Parameter measurements
Strong programming skills including LabView
PCB software experience, preferably Altium Designer
Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
Liaise with mechanical engineering, production, and quality groups in the development of work instructions and controls for electrical assembly manufacture
Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections
Strong leadership skills with a commitment to teamwork.
