Engineering and Projects Plant Manager

Location: Saudi Arabia

Salary: €Negotiable + excellent benefits package

Essential: Our client is seeking candidates with experience in the design, build, project management and start-up phase of a similar pharmaceutical plant.

Our client is a private share holding company established in Saudi Arabia. The company will consist of a solid dosage form department, a high containment solid dosage form department and an Ointment and cream department. The conceptual design will be contracted to a specialised International, European or American Consultant Company as well as the supervision and revision for the total complete detailed designs which will be made by a local company under the Engineering and Project Manager supervision and liaison.

The Engineering and Projects Plant Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Making sure that the design parameters such as room data sheets, material flow, personnel flow, personnel and building safety systems, air conditioning and pressurization requirements are fully understood and implemented in the detailed design before it is sent for revision to the German company.
  • Supervision, control and co-ordination of the Engineering design work to ensure that all requirements are carried out to the highest quality levels and stand
  • Checking all documentation produced by the design office in Europe/US and checking of all design documents produced by the local detailed design offices to make sure project documentation is complete and conforms to cGMP and FDA regulation
  • Management and coordination of the construction, installation, commissioning including all documentation of the project Building and manufacturing machines, ensuring its timely completion to cGMP requirements
  • Write-up of the User requirement specifications for equipme Selection of equipment by proper comparison methods, recommending suitable suppliers and manufacturers of equipment and follow up the procurement of all production equipment and automated computerized systems according to Good Automation Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) recommendations. This involves the follow-up of the creation of the equipment from the design specifications stage through the URS, functional specifications, automated controls, recipe structures up to the proper validation of the equipment.
  • Issuing all manufacturing machine orders according to manufacturer’s final offers (Purchase contracts), our specifications and INCO terms conditions of purchase contracts.
  • Performing a number of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) tests for purchased equipment
  • Following up all maintenance programs and procedures within the existing sections of the factory as in normal maintenance operations


Miniumum BSc. in Engineering /preference Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering


Computer skills consisting of: Reports and Presentations, Drawings using AutoCAD, Corel Draw, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Primavera, Microsoft Project.


Ideally 15 - 20 year’s experience.


Experience working in European and or North American projects.
